On the water
I am drawn to the water and the sea as a moth is to a flame. Blame my Dutch heritage or my tropical island upbringing, replete with mangrove adventures, water holds the promise of life and travel as well as unyielding challenge.
Building on the water has been a long standing fantasy from my degree thesis to present. How do we build and live here in harmony, contributing and enhancing the environment around us? Perhaps by undoing the damage we have done while taking up residence.
These images were created using Stable diffusion using the image to image facility with a hand sketch of mine as the source image. Text prompts included architectural references, Tadao Ando and Tom Kundig.
