Services

Architectural

Standard Architectural services including:

Discovery Phase - Where we figure out exactly what we want and what our limitations are.

Concept Design - Where we work up a few options with the client based on agreed approaches.

Schematic Design - Where we involve the larger consultant team to consolidate the preferred options and submit Planning/Development Applications.

Contract Documentation - Where the tender documents are developed by the consultant team to close gaps for accurate pricing in tandem with achieving a building permit and appropriate cost control.

Tender Assessment - Where we assess and interview tenderers with the client

On Site Services - Site meetngs, walk trhoughs, assessment of shop drawings and responding to RFIs

Collaboration

Collaboration is fun! We are always keen to push ideas around with other brains. From high level discussions to detail resolutions ranging from Design approaches and concept foundations right down to documentation and resourcing strategies.

Cross pollination of ideas from different disciplines and industries is particularly interesting to us so don’t be shy! What’s the worst thing that could happen?

Many can parameterise a family or library part to gain some efficiency but it takes some experience to do this effectively. An understanding of the end use, the details, how the asset is to be documented, the knowledge level of the users and practice standards are all essential.

The promise of parametric design has been great and present for some time but the gap between user knowledge and asset creation has hindered many practices from realising the benefits.

Bringing significant experience in all project phases, we can put the parts together to suit your practice approach and tailor solutions to match the particular project requirements.

AI Wrangling

Artificial Intelligence: machine learning using neural networks is a game-changer for all creative endeavours… I just sacked my entire art department and replaced them with a local installation of stable diffusion. (this is a joke but I hope you get my point).

At one level pure text to imagery vehicles serve as a fire hose of creative input while at another, image to image vehicles now allow AI development of existing imagery to rapidly produce conceptual art.

Behind all this are the essential questions of authenticity which we need to grapple with and understand; is this output purely derivative? How can we claim authorship? How much is the output determined by the training set? I’ll answer that one for you - it is entirely determined by the training set.

It comes down to how you use the technology.

We have spent the last few months exploring this rabbit hole. Let us help you understand and establish effective workflows to leverage the potential of this significant new power.

Concept development - Using the Text to image process followed by image to image with parameter tweaks and basic human directions… Examples

Rapid visualisation based on existing imagery - Take your existing site photos, add some words prompts, perhaps even some photoshop ques, dial-in your diffusion settings and hold on. The results can be spectacular and blindingly quick. Examples

Other - I think it is possible to train a neural net to reflect a practices design preference and also design many of our simpler elements. Think bathroom layouts or even a car park - where the parameters are quantifiable and human oversight is not overly taxing. Let us know what you are thinking about!
