The AI rabbit hole

I am fascinated with the possibilities of AI through machine learning using neural nets. Some would say, obsessed.

The promise is enormous as are the potential pitfalls of inappropriate application.

As a creative foil, seeded with my own imagery and wordsmithing (the AI type, not literature) it becomes a fire-hose of creativity. Below are some of my recent curated creations using the mesmerising Stable Diffusion AI interface.

When the result speaks to me and results in new ideas, “I hadn’t thought of that…” or “Hey that would work if we did this and…” or the more intangible, “Why do I like this so much?” the process yields gold dust. However the background and training of the network involved must taken into account. These images do not come out of the ether but on the shoulders of creators present and past. Attributions of stylistic influence are given in the descriptions.
